Hello!

My name is Hwan Cho. I am currently a high school student. Outside of playing chess, I love playing all kinds of sports like soccer, basketball, and badminton. However, amidst all these hobbies my favorite is playing chess. I was introduced to the game of chess from an early age, but it took on an even deeper interest during 8th grade. My 8th-grade geometry teacher, Mrs. G, would always open up her classroom during lunch for students to come in and play different board games like chess. Every lunch with my friends, we would run over to our teacher’s classroom and set up the chess boards to play until the bell rang. Sometimes I would lose chess games and other times I didn’t even get to play, but one thing that did not change was my interest in that game. I was always obsessed with the infinite possibilities chess brought and how a board game could resemble so much of one’s life. Chess has taught me many life lessons like coordination, sacrifices, and loyalty, but the most important message it has taught me was the importance of losing. Before playing chess, I always thought losing and failing was something that I had to avoid in my own life. What I learned from chess was that instead of being afraid of my failures, I had to accept it in order to succeed. By opening up her classroom, Mrs. G impacted students like myself who became fascinated about the game ever since. Through this chess website, I want to be Mrs. G to other people by creating a positive influence. Moreover, I want to display that anyone, no matter who they are can spread positivity with their hobbies and passions. I plan to affect those around me by writing children novels and giving free chess online classes for anyone. All the revenue I earn from my ads and books will be all given away to people who will greatly benefit from it. I believe that success is not what you have, but how much you can give back. Through my passion, I am motivated to create an impact in our world regardless of the numerous failures I will encounter.
